First thing first - why is adding a quiz to your website a good idea in the first place?
Interactive quizzes serve different purposes:
- Lead generation tool: collect leads who are interested in your content and area of service
- Collect data: get valuable data points about your audience so you can better segment it and market to it
- Boost presence on social media/web: quizzes are easily sharable on social media which makes it a great asset to direct visits to your website
- Provide value: with personalised results based on user answers, your quiz results are valuable information to your users
Typical usage of quizzes are product recommendation, testing knowledge about an area, personality based…
Creating questions/answers (and a free tool to help you build them!)
Depending on your audience, you should consider the following when building your quiz:
- Number of questions: the shorter the better :) but it does need to provide valuable insights. 6-10 is a good range for lead generation quizzes.
- Single or multi page: the one question per page experience is preferred, especially if your users are expected to take the quiz on mobile
- Types of questions: typically single select are recommended as they are faster to answer. Try to keep your texts short and provide between 2-6 max options per question.
- Design: use image based questions when you can to make the layout engaging!
Write down your questions and answers and map answers to result categories (either a specific product recommendation, a personality profile, a true/false category…).
